Description
Kai Nyammy Cat Kitchen Knife — 165mm (Warm Grey)
Add a playful yet professional touch to your culinary prep with the Kai Nyammy Cat Santoku Knife. Part of the celebrated "Nyammy" series by Kai Group—one of Japan’s oldest and most respected blade manufacturers based in Seki—this knife perfectly balances "Kawaii" cat-themed aesthetics with the serious cutting performance Kai is known for worldwide.
Key Features
Precision 165mm Santoku Blade — The "Three Virtues" blade shape is the versatile workhorse of the Japanese kitchen. At 165mm, it is perfectly balanced for slicing meat, dicing vegetables, and mincing herbs with ease.
Whimsical "Cat Paw" Measurements — The blade features adorable cat paw prints laser-etched onto the surface. These aren't just for decoration; they are spaced at 1cm intervals, serving as a handy visual guide for consistent slicing and portioning.
Non-Stick Coated Stainless Steel — The high-carbon stainless steel blade is finished with a sophisticated Warm Grey non-stick coating. This prevents food—especially starchy vegetables like potatoes or cucumbers—from sticking to the blade while you cut.
Ergonomic "Cat-Ear" Handle — The handle is designed with subtle "ears" at the bolster that provide a natural resting point for your fingers, ensuring a secure and comfortable grip during extended prep sessions.
High-Carbon Japanese Steel — Underneath the charming exterior lies professional-grade Japanese steel, expertly honed to a razor-sharp edge that retains its sharpness significantly longer than standard Western cutlery.
Lightweight & Balanced — Engineered to be nimble in the hand, reducing wrist fatigue for home cooks who handle large volumes of vegetable prep.

Usage & Care
Cutting Surface: To protect the fine Japanese edge and the non-stick coating, always use a wood or soft plastic cutting board. Avoid cutting on glass, ceramic, or marble.
Cleaning: Hand-wash only with a soft sponge and mild detergent. Do not use abrasive scouring pads, as they may scratch the grey coating.
Drying: Dry immediately with a soft cloth after washing to maintain the integrity of the steel.
Sharpening: When the knife eventually requires sharpening, use a quality whetstone. Note that sharpening will naturally remove a small amount of the coating at the very edge of the blade, which is normal for coated knives.
Perfect For
Cat Lovers & Enthusiasts: A delightful way to bring personality into the kitchen without sacrificing tool quality.
Modern Kitchen Decors: The muted Warm Grey tone fits beautifully into minimalist, "Muji-style," or contemporary monochrome kitchens.
Ramen & Veggie Prep: The non-stick coating and 165mm length make it ideal for the rapid dicing and slicing required for fresh Japanese cuisine.
Gift Giving: An unforgettable housewarming or birthday gift for someone who appreciates "functional cuteness" and Japanese craftsmanship.
